“Only fools and dead men don’t change their minds. Fools won’t and dead men can’t.”

― John H. Patterson

I want to write this blog with a certain level of vulnerability and honesty that I am hoping will win me some points with whoever has decided to click on it to read it. I’m not even sure how to express myself without putting the reliability of my word into jeopardy or my credibility in general in peril. However, I will give it a try and see what happens. I will say this though… While I am normally extremely long winded when I write, I will try to be as concise as possible this time around…

In January of this year, I wrote this blog: http://exclusive-events.ca/2018-our-last-year-for-weddings. For me, it was important to be honest and forthcoming about how I felt regarding the future of this company. I wanted to continue being a DJ during the week, but I wanted to reinvest my weekends into spending more time with my wife and family at home.

Then, in July of this year, my wife and I went to Spain for my cousin’s wedding. Without going into too much detail about our entire experience, that trip sparked several new conversations about our lives and our future. Suffice to say, our previous “5-year plan” completely changed. It’s not necessarily precise or concrete at this point, but we’re excited about what’s to come.

And now, we are August 11th, the day of my best friend’s 11th wedding anniversary as well my other friend’s 42nd birthday, and I have so many emotions and thoughts stirring inside of me. However, this time around, I am choosing to share them mainly with my wife and only share one component with everyone else in the form of this blog “announcement” because it impacts Exclusive Events and essentially contradicts what I wrote back in January.

Yes, at this point, you may have guessed it… As of this moment, Exclusive Events is announcing that we will still be doing weddings beyond 2018! Not only will we be accepting bookings for 2019, but we can also confirm that we are opening the books for 2020 as well!

I am more than ready to accept the criticism for making an announcement earlier in the year that I am essentially reneging on today. However, for anyone who knows the type of service we provide to our clients, our decision to move forward for the next couple of years should also be an indication that we still love what we do and we are still passionate about it. With that being said, I will not deny that there were some important truths that I shared in that previous blog. And while I still want to make sure that Exclusive Events continues offering exceptional service, I definitely want to continue giving my personal life the attention that it deserves. As such, in the next few weeks, we will be revisiting our packages and services and we may be adjusting our format for the future. No formal announcements will be made about those changes. They will be shared on a need-to-know basis with prospective clients in our initial meetings in the usual transparent manner in which we have always proceeded.

All this to say… If you know someone who is getting married in 2019 or 2020 and are searching for a DJ, please contact us for a free consultation session. After one meeting with us, you will see what sets us apart from the others. We look forward to turning your dream day into reality!

Thanks for reading!
